- My thoughts about music today I thought about all the different webpage things I could write about. I decided on music. Music and religion are often intertwined especially through chrstian music. :) I am a major fan of christian music. If you would have told me two years ago that I wouldn't be listening to Prodigy, Live, rap music, Bush and No Doubt..I would have said something nasty to you. But, thanks to a sad and scary wakeup call...all that changed. I put all the cds I didn't listen to away and just kept the ones I felt delivered a positive message. Now, I'm not saying bands like that are bad because they're not. I just changed my style of music. Within months of listening to my new found music, I began to feel happier and developed a personal relationship with God which is THE best thing that I have ever done or will do. I decided to change my music style because of the lyrics I heard from numerous different artists. We don't need to hear lyrics with cursing, murdering people, beating people up, or racism. Just turn on the news. Don't we have enough of that? I mean, if people can be changed so greatly by good, clean music..what messages do you think negative lyrics are giving the people that listen to them? Obviously, not good ones. When I've asked people who their role models are..some people say rappers or other singer/songwriters. Most are people who don't have very good lyrics. We need to think twice about who we look up to. People who sing about murders or calling eachother awful names are NOT role models. That may be the way they were brought up and that's fine..all people go through rough times but they do not need to result in songs about murders. They should be thankful and write songs about praising the one who brought them through it all...The Lord. Jesus is a GREAT role model. Why don't we start with Him? <>< <><
I thought my page was okay. I loved it <3 But some people (Joe and Laura) kept
complaining about me never updating my page. So here u guys, an update. I've been busy. I'm sorry. I thought I had all the time in the world cause it's summer and everything but c'mon, I gotta sleep all day! :) School will be starting soon so I will probably update weekly or every Tuesday. I was thinking about what should add to make this an interesting page. I thought about a quote of the week or day or something! I like that idea so everytime I come on I will have another quote. And since i got NO email, I didn't know what to do. Here it is. Quote - (I found this in Time magazine this morning. It was about the Power For Living book. It used to be a commercial, well two commercials but I LOVE the massage. It's about abstinence and abortion) "You're worth waiting for" and "Life. What a beautiful choice." :) We need more stuff like that!! :)
